Somerset Veterinary Hospital, P.C. is looking for an outgoing Licensed Veterinarian to join our team.
You will be working alongside our practice owner Dr. Penny Iliff and her amazing support staff. Our focus is preventative care, sick patients, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and client education. We offer emergency services during and after office hours in a group rotation with 2 other local veterinary clinics. Our patients include dogs, cats, and small exotic pets. We are open to applicants with clinical experience or an eager new graduate.
Your basic work schedule would be 3 full days and 2 half days per week. If participating in after hour emergency shifts, you would be on-call 4-5 times per month until 10 p.m. when emergencies are turned over to a full-time emergency practice. Holidays are also covered by the full-time emergency practice.
Compensation for being part of our excellent, fun, positive team is a base salary (minimum $100,000), production bonus, and 40% of on-call revenue ($10,000-$20,000 per year). Additional benefits include paid health insurance, liability insurance, license defense, PA license, continuing ed, AVMA and PVMA dues, simple IRA, paid time off, employee pet care, and re-location assistance or signing bonus. We are open to negotiation of this benefits package.

Let me tell you about our hometown. We are in Somerset Pennsylvania, about 1.25 hours southwest of Pittsburgh. Activities for an avid adventurer include state parks, the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, 3 ski resorts (7 Springs, Hidden Valley, and Laurel Mountain), and The Great Allegheny Passage rail trail. Somerset county also features various rivers and lakes for boating, fishing, or kyaking. If you're not quite the outdoorsy type, our county has some wonderful local coffee shops, local restaurants, boutiques, distilleries, and bakeries. There are also some great salons and spas for self-care days too.
